Course descriptions listed below.
- Blake Foster: Philosophy of Art, Wet-on-Wet Blending and Decalcomania
In this video, we start by talking about why we make art and how it shapes our lives. Blake shares his own approach to creating, along with some of the wisdom he’s picked up from his mentors. He also offers tips for staying inspired and keeping your creativity moving. After that, we jump into painting, beginning with the wet-on-wet blending technique. Blake wraps up the session with some awesome demonstrations of Decalcomania, a distinctive way of creating organic, abstract textures.
2: Shannon- 3D Blocking For Dimensionality
In this video, Shannon takes us step-by-step through how she builds depth and convincing three-dimensionality in an underpainting. She starts with simple chalk work, then walks through key compositional tools and the value scale, showing how each element helps create solid, believable form. It’s an essential foundation for making paintings that truly hold up.
3: Seth and Blake- Design Languages and Inspirations
In this class, Seth shows us how to move through different design languages by understanding the balance between masculine and feminine principles. We look at examples of each approach and explore how they can interact, overlap, and flow into one another, making it easier to shift styles with intention. Then we join Blake for a different angle on design inspiration. Instead of studying other artists, he takes us into the micro and macro worlds—looking at fractals, natural patterns, and the structures of nature itself as a way to spark new ideas.
4: Seth- Perspective
In this class, Seth breaks down his approach to multi-point perspective, guiding us from simple one-point setups all the way to five-point perspective. He walks through each stage so you can see exactly how the structure builds and expands. After that, he does a spray-painting demo to show how you can quickly create atmospheric perspective and depth in an image.
5: Seth, Blake, Shannon- Color Theory and Glazing
We kick off this class in the pool, where Seth uses the color wheel to break down complementary and analogous color schemes in a really clear and simple way. Then we move to Blake, who walks us through a series of strong examples that show how thoughtful color choices can shape a painting. Shannon follows by explaining how to control saturation and steer clear of that “rainbow vomit” look. She wraps things up with an excellent glazing demonstration that shows how to build rich, controlled color layers.
6: Kaila- Spirit Guides
In this class, we connect to our animal guides. Kaila shows a step by step process on how to draw and paint our favorite animals. From breaking down the body into simple shapes to detailing the fur, she makes this challenging process easy and fun.
7: Shannon and Blake- Portraits and Hands
In this class, Shannon breaks down the art of painting a human face into simple, approachable steps. She walks you through essential proportions, shows you how to see the head as a set of basic shapes, and demonstrates her portrait process with clarity and ease. By the end, you’ll understand the structure behind a believable face—and painting portraits will feel more intuitive and achievable. Next, Blake takes us through how to draw hands, breaking the forms down into simple shapes so the process actually feels manageable. We use our own hands as reference and try out a few different poses.
8: Blake and Seth- Composition
In this class, Blake and Seth walk you through the composition tricks they use the most. You’ll see what makes a setup work (and what usually throws things off) so you can plan your paintings with more confidence. They also share their own thumbnail sketches and talk through how they’re thinking as they map out the pieces they’re about to paint.
9: Shannon- Galaxies and Nebulas
Get ready to head into outer space! Shannon walks you through how to paint stars, nebulas, and galaxies from the ground up. You’ll lay in your base colors first, and then she’ll show you how using teacher’s chalk to sketch the initial design is an awesome way to map out your idea before you start painting.
10: Seth, Blake, Shannon- The Business of Art
Seth, Blake, and Shannon share their real-world insight into the business side of being an artist. Blake and Seth break down practical tips for selling your work, while Shannon leads an honest, powerful conversation about navigating the art world as a female artist. Together, they talk about financial literacy, staying balanced, and building a healthy, sustainable, and successful creative life.
11: Vinita- Ayurveda and Sankyha Philosophy
In this class, Vinita walks you through the worlds of Ayurveda, Hindu mythology, and Sankhya philosophy, showing how these ancient teachings can spark creativity and deepen your art practice. You’ll learn about the doshas and gunas in a clear, relatable way, and explore how they connect to balance, energy, and artistic flow. Vinita keeps the material engaging and easy to take in, making big ideas feel accessible. The class wraps up with an energizing breath-work session, where she teaches powerful techniques you can use to boost your vitality and support your creative work.
